St Mary's Church Grassendale holds a unique part in the history of the growth of Liverpool in the mid 19^th century. Opened in 1854, our grade ll listed building has a constant need for preservation, repair and restoration as our present battle against dry rot has shown.

A legacy of over 150 years of prayer, praise and caring for the community has given St Mary's a warm and friendly atmosphere and the Friends of St Mary's hopes to build on this legacy to assist in the preservation of our wonderful church .

Membership of The Friends of St Mary's Church Grassendale (FSMG) offers the opportunity to many of us who grew up at St Mary's or were baptised or married in St Mary's who possibly no longer live in our locality , to help with this continuing and difficult work. The funds collected by membership, donations and associated gift aid will be separate Restricted Funds and will be used solely for the upkeep of the fabric of the church.

Please take this opportunity to join us in our new venture and sign up as Friends of St Mary's Church. Membership will be £2 per month by standing order, or £20 per annum as a single payment.

The Friends of St Mary's Church intend to hold regular family events to enable our congregation to celebrate our church, starting with the Grand Pizza Party and Treasure Hunt around the parish boundary on October 8 2017.

A Big Lunch - In conjunction with the Eden Project
Scarecrow Competition
Photographic Competition.
WW1 Display of those that fell from St Mary's School
Week Long Patronal Festival.
